Dear Knights and Knight Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year and a special welcome to the Class of 2013! I am honored to be Rialto High School’s principal as we enter into our seventeenth year. We are excited about the different programs offered at Rialto High School that will provide the path for a positive and productive high school experience.
Our primary goals are to increase student achievement, prepare our graduates for the world beyond high school, and remain committed to maintaining a safe learning environment. We will continue to build identity and personalization through the Smaller Learning Community model that we call academies. Our 11th grade GEAR-UP program will provide outstanding learning opportunities for students. Rialto High School will continue to enhance the Link-Crew Program developing leadership skills and providing on-going support for freshman and transfer students. Junior and seniors will be asked to select a career sector that includes various pathways to assist students to reach their career goals as well as their graduation requirements.
Only through the challenges of rigor, relevance, and building relationships can we help achieve our goals at Rialto High. The partnering of parents/guardians and teaching staff for the successful development of each student is important to us. We ask for your active participation in your child’s educational development. We encourage parents to participate in our Parents Outreach Program (POP), School Site Council, and English Language Advisory Committee. We are now in the process of beginning a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Rialto High School to further build a stronger school for our youth.
Again, it is my privilege to be the new principal of Rialto High School. I look forward to working with you to ensure the success of all students.
Sincerely,
Andres Luna II
Principal
