Dear Knights and Knights Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year and a very special welcome to the class of 2015! My name is Albert
Castillo, and I am the new Principal of Rialto High School. Please know that I come to Rialto with 30 years of
experience in education. During my career, I have been an English teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and
a Principal at Whittier High School, La Puente High School, and most recently I have supervised Principals in
the Los Angeles Unified School District. I have a track record of success most notably in developing Small
Learning Communities, Professional Communities, and turning high schools into schools for the 21st Century.
Additionally I have served as a Professor at Cal State Northridge where I have prepared teachers in becoming
school site administrators.
