AVID Student Chosen to Sing National Anthem

Elizabeth Martinez was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the RIMS Senior Recognition at Cal State San Bernardino on May 9, 2013. This event recognizes the efforts of all AVID seniors in San Bernardino County. Attendees and speakers include the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, various administrators from districts and schools from around the county, RIMS AVID personnel, and leading administrators from Cal State San Bernardino.

Rialto High School Senior & Varsity Softball Player Jocelyn Hernandez has received an academic and sports scholarship to Johnson C. Smith University

Rialto High School Student Saves Woman From Pit-bull Attack

William Harden, a Senior here at Rialto High School, was out riding his bicycle when he observed a woman and her small dog being attacked by a pit-bull. Being the quick thinker that he is, he went over to assist her and fended off the large dog. He checked to make sure the victim and her pet were ok, then went on his way without asking for any thanks or reward.

Upon hearing this from Rialto High School Receptionist Maria Martinez, Principal Albert Castillo awarded Mr. Harden the limited edition "Small, But Mighty" Principal's Pin for doing what was right, and not asking for any reward.

Dear Knights and Knights Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year and a very special welcome to the class of 2016! It is with much excitement as I start my second year as Principal of Rialto High School. As many of you know, I have 30 years of experience in education as an English teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and a Principal at several high schools in Los Angeles County. Most recently, I have supervised Principals in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and I have a track record of success most notably in developing Small Learning Communities, Professional Communities, and turning high schools into schools for the 21^st Century. Additionally, I have served as a Professor at Cal State Northridge where I have prepared teachers in becoming school site administrators.
